Better representation with the ‘polygon interface’ display of many tools - with dynamically changing shapes.The new 4D Tools addon creates this image on the fly and this is why the library must be in a unlocked folder The following tools have had this upgrade (Note: v27-v29). This interface update includes these tools

The following updates are for all users
- The footing tool now has a new feature to show an offset around a slab.. made for setout plans. So those offices that model the slab to the outside of the wall (The correct way) can now easily create a slab offset line to represent the walls
- Cabinet Steel Framing 4D
This entirely new part will create a steel frame suitable for commercial kitchens and remote cabinet works. Does a host of functions that are expected of a 4D Library part- Fully hotspot editable
- Simple UI with multiple pages giving all the relevant functions prominence.
- Sections can be elevated and stretched, so each section of the frame can be edited to be the required size, without creating a new part
- Each frame can have standard legs or screw in feet
- Label Maker - improved handling of beams and columns.. Can select a beam or column segment to label now, can handle circular columns and with improved offset of inner frames
- Garage Door - 3d hotspot to open the garage door and continue along the track.
- Improved registrations, with the backup server working better on the off chance the main licensing server is down
- Door panel detail feature working again
- Door panel solid fill option
- Significant bug fixes. (Areas Mode Button Included)
- Plus dozens of little tweaks and new features…
March 2026 (b32)
- The Standard Notes Object can now reference anything from the project info, or reference a story then display the story as millimetres, metres or brick courses.
- Cupboard Stack has a new option to lock the height. So that if a section is stretched, only the top section will change.
- New wall thickness option in the Label Maker. This allows for labels that link to the opening width and the wall thickness at the same time(NOTE: Also available directly in openings using the 'build a string' method)
- The Vanity Unit now has more flexibility when nominating the drawers. You can now choose the number of drawers in each drawer unit.
- Cupboard assembly. New shelving grid flexibility and small bug fix to undermount sq. sinks.
January 2026 (b30)
- New Arched Doors: Internal Single and Double, External Single and Double, and Sliding Pocket doors. Including new door panels that curved with the door heads..
- All Libraries have been updated to work with the new 4D Library server.
- The 4D Tools also have a new, future backup server ability, so if the main licensing server has issues, the add-on can look to the backup server.
- Improved support file handling
- Self installing - If you have a registered library for your company, you can now move that library to another machine without the need to register again.
- ‘Locked’ libraries that have become out of date will now unlock after registration is successful.
- New, improved user interface for PC users in particular.
- All this whilst maintaining the best possible performance.
- Note: This is a major update and will require a new addon and library to function correctly
These updates also ensure connections to the server, with the addon now using HTTP.. this is important and you may have to inform your IT dept. if issues persist.

- Performance issues addressed - affecting some AC 28 and 27 users.. If you are finding the 4D Library slow in ArchiCAD 28 or 27, this update should help a lot.
- Cloud licensing now works on all versions - the 4D Library 26 - 27 & 28

01-8-2024 Wrapped and Extended Gutter ends for roof accessories added - plus improved barge end cuts. Door stops calculate with door circulation calculations, Sliding door floor plan arrows have moveable hotspots. Vents updated with 3d offset and plan preview shows 3d
19-08-2024 Window Sill Error fixed for Doors
25-09-2024 . Released as an updated version (Available from the check for updates menu) New glazing bars can now be added per glazing panel and are fully adjustable via hotspot.. new interface included. Only available on the MultiWindow so far. 4D Roofing - Downpipe spreaders now have easier to choose positions. Truncated gable linings option. Multishower flip shower connection (Correction). Editable fills on roof linings

Link a single storey line to a storey in section and elevation. Improved interface. I think this is the best option for story lines - because of the flexibility. - Roof 4D - Improved box gutter to spandrel setup.

Included in this update
Areas Tools Update
The fantastic new Area tool is now available for all versions from 24 and above. Be sure to read through the new help files for instructions
The download links are below - Note the older version of the 4D Library without the Areas tool are available from the downloads page. Link is at the bottom. Use these libraries only for compatibility with existing installations
If you update to the new version of the 4D Library, make sure all users are updated and the old libraries are not loaded again.
